As communications professionals, we know how important it is to continually expand our knowledge base and network. One of the best, and most enjoyable, ways to do this is by attending conferences.
“But there are so many conferences, how am I supposed to figure out which will be the best to attend?”
We’re glad you asked because we have a breakdown of our top conference recommendations where you’ll meet and collaborate with exceptional people, learn about important new industry trends and strategies for communications, and have a great time!
Jennie and Mac were two of the lucky ones invited to attend frank’s inaugural conference at the University of Florida in Gainesville earlier this year. What’s so great about this particular gathering of social change communicators? Frank provides an opportunity to meet and collaborate with some of our industry’s most well-known leaders (think David Bornstein and Shankar Vedantam) and breeds inspiration. Jennie was so inspired she signed up for the frank 2015 planning committee on the spot!
The Nonprofit Technology Conference is a three-day event that gathers nonprofit professionals from around the world to collaborate through a variety of trainings, seminars, workshops, and social events. We sent Jessica Williams to this conference last month and she had a blast. Her favorite parts of the event? The meaningful conversations she had with the awesome people she met, and the important new industry trends she gained knowledge on.
Communications Network Conference
Head to Philadelphia this October to join some of the best and brightest nonprofit communications professionals at The Communications Network Conference. During this two-day event, you’ll learn critical lessons to apply to communication strategies for your nonprofit or foundation, how to weave communications into your every level of an organization for maximum impact, and, if you’re like Jennie, run into old friends and make new friends along the way!
The DMA Nonprofit Federation’s Washington Nonprofit Conference took place in February, but make sure to add it to your 2015 agenda! At this interactive two-day event, you’ll find out how to improve your nonprofit’s public awareness, share innovative fundraising and marketing ideas, and find creative ways to strengthen donor relationships. This year’s event included a variety of lectures and presentations, as well as some unconventional networking opportunities to meet and bond with new acquaintances, including a boot camp, a chocolate and wine reception, and a fun run!
And there you have it, four of our favorite conferences you’ll leave with three valuable gains: Newfound knowledge on cutting-edge industry topics, meaningful new connections, and, of course, an incredible time!
