Make it Look Good

Social media users have no tolerance for shoddy work, so whether you Instagram it, Photoshop it, Canva it, meme it, or Picframe it – make it look good!

Here’s how making it look good will help you:

  • Facebook favors strong content. Its complex algorithms give more weight to posts that are commented, liked and shared, and no one is going to share that dark company photo or an image posted without context.
  • Your Twitter feed will  come alive with the help of creative images that portray your nonprofit as dynamic and inviting!
  • Instagram is founded on great photos and sharing user generated content that allow you to engage your community.

Then remember to….

Incorporate Your Brand Colors

Incorporating your brand style and colors into your visual media content is a great way to build brand awareness and to take advantage of social media platforms like Pinterest.

For example, when Mac’s List, a service of Prichard, posts images on its blog, the photos are also uploaded to Facebook, Twitter, and Google + and are pinned to the Mac’s List Pinterest boards.

Branding the photos in this way reinforces the website and company name in a visually appealing way.

Make Visual Media a Part of Your Overall Strategy

Most importantly, your foundation, nonprofit or social change organization should make sure that visual media is part of a larger strategy towards meeting your goals.

Visual media platforms like Instagram, Pinterest, and Vine can be great tools to build community, generate interest, engage followers and increase support of your mission.
